- Our work is designed, created and lead by professionally trained theatre makers, artists and educators.
- Our pedagogical methodology stems from the belief that theatre in it’s broadest sense, and even for the youngest participants, is a powerful tool for nuturing creativity, self-confidence, resiliance and community.
- Our sessions are always in English unless otherwise stated.

- We take inclusivity seriously, it’s not a checkbox exercise for us.
- We aim for our groups to be equally welcoming to all, regardless of gender, cultural background, identity or different learning needs.

4. Signing up
Parent & Child 2-4 Year Old Groups
- You can sign up for a whole block straight away if there is a place available.
- If you prefer to take a tryout first, this does not guarantee you a place in a whole block.
- A tryout is arranged for a day when there is a place in the group, and you and your child can attend.
- You can take as many tryouts as you like before committing to a whole block.
- Families in the current block have priority for a place in the following block until a certain date, after this date all remaining places are open for anyone to book until the group is full.
Theatre Groups for 5-7 Year Olds and 8-12 Year Olds
- Your child first signs up for a tryout.
- A tryout is arranged for a day when there is a place in the group, and your child can attend.
- We’re dedicated to creating a playful environment where each child can develop at their own pace. While we find that concentration, commitment, and a willingness to work together helps everyone get the most out of our sessions, we understand that each child’s readiness may look different. So to make sure our group is the right fit for your child at this time, we begin with one or two tryout sessions.
- If the tryout(s) goes well, they are invited to join the group (pending availability of places).
- If we see however that your child isn’t yet ready to participate enough in the work, we will invite them to try again in the future when the time feels right.
- This approach helps us ensure the best possible experience for everyone.
- Payments
- Your child’s place in a group is only confirmed once you’ve paid.
- Your payment for a block of sessions guarantees your child’s place and includes the administrative work we do to process this and any communication we have with you (emailing, text messaging, phone calls etc). We reserve the right to allow others the chance to do a tryout or one-off session in your child’s place if they cannot attend, without refunding you.
- Payments are taken via the website.
- Once you have paid you will receive a receipt by email (check junk mail).
- You will also be redirected to a page or receive an email with important details for your specific group, including arrival time and who to contact if you have questions or cannot attend.
- Make sure to download the instructions for reference. We’re not responsible for any misunderstandings if you skip this or don’t read it.
- Cancellations and Refunds
- Once you have paid, we cannot refund you for any sessions or blocks of sessions which you decide not to attend or which your child has to miss due to illness or any other reason.
- You are welcome to find another child to take your child’s place for missed sessions or blocks but you need to arrange this yourself, including updating us with the new family’s contact details. Families have had success selling their place in Facebook groups like Amsterdam Mamas, Family Market Amsterdam and Amsterdam Family Market.
- We reserve the right to cancel or modify the session schedule in case of unforeseen circumstances.
- In this unlikely event, you would be fully refunded for any cancelled sessions.
- Privacy and Data Protection
- We handle your personal data with due care and security.
- We only use your data to contact you about our activities, or activities we are hosting which are related to ours.
- We do not share your data with anyone outside of Amsterdam Kids Drama & Dance or AnaMorphic Dance Theatre Project.
