lot’s of fun for small people with big imaginations!

Or read on for a full description of our unique family sessions…
These performance based sessions are for you and your child to enjoy time together in a fun and creative way. Each week we enter an imaginative journey around the space actively exploring a different theme. Using a combination of dance, mime, songs, costumes and decor we bring the theme alive in the children’s imaginations. Some themes are fantastical while others celebrate the everyday world which kids can relate to. Everything is in English.
We give attention to individual work and group activities so that the kid’s develop an awareness of their body and the space around them. They also get to expand their English vocabulary and a chance to interact with others. Each child is encouraged to feel welcome and included, without any pressure to do anything they’re not comfortable with.
We are committed to being as inclusive as possible. Classes are LGBT+ family friendly and celebrate all nationalities, cultures and backgrounds. Unfortunately our studio is not currently accessible for wheelchair users, but together with other members of our building, we are working on finding a long term solution for this. If reaching the studio for either you or your child would be difficult, please let us know and we will look at possibilities.

FAQs
How do I sign my child up?
Scroll back to the top of the page and click on the button. Numbers are limited so sign up in advance if you want to be sure of a place, especially for the Saturday group!
Can my child do a tryout class first?
Yes, we have a waiting list for tryouts and one-off sessions. If the group you want to come to isn’t full, you can do the tryout immediately. If the group is full, it’s only possible when we know that someone will be away one week and so there’s a spare place. We’ll contact you when a date becomes available. If you want to join the rest of the block after the tryout, it’s only possible if there’s still a place in that group, you then pay for the remaining classes in that block. A tryout almost always happens, but if a day eventually can’t be found for it, we can refund you. Note that some blocks fill up far in advance, so if you want to be sure of a place, we advise you to sign up rather than wait for a tryout!
What happens if we have to miss a session?
If you can’t come to some of the sessions you’ve paid for, it’s possible to take a make-up class in the future when you’re no longer signed up, one session per block. If for some reason you need to drop out of a group altogether, we can’t refund your payment but you’re welcome, to send another child in your child’s place for the rest of the block. You would need to arrange this yourself.
What happens if we can no longer attend after signing up?
If for some reason you need to drop out of a group altogether, we cannot refund your payment. However you’re welcome, to send another child in your child’s place for the rest of the block. You would need to arrange this yourself, we cannot do this for you.
How often are the themes repeated?
Themes are normally repeated twice a year, except for the special classes like Easter, Halloween and Christmas. Kids who have been coming a long time love to repeat the themes. For them it’s like returning to a favourite story book and they feel pleased to know ‘what to do’.
What should we wear to the class?
It’s best you both wear clothes you can move in. And for kids it’s handy to have bare feet or socks with non-slip soles.
What if my child is very shy?
Not a problem! Many children are shy, especially in the beginning. You are welcome to take each session at your own pace. When you come regularly, you’ll start to see your child come out of their shell.
What if my child doesn’t speak English?
We often have kids who understand little or no English. This usually works out fine since the sessions are easy to follow and parents can translate where neccessary.
What if my child is disruptive during a class?
It’s normal for young kids to have different emotions and we do our best to allow for this. If your child is very upset or their behaviour is causing a disruption to the session, we kindly ask you to go outside the room with them for a few minutes to let them calm down. We’ve found that in the majority of cases this works well, and they are able to join in the rest of the session without problems.
My child is under 2 years old, can we join already?
The groups are aimed at kids from 2-4 years old (24-59 months). But since children’s development differs so much from child to child, it’s ok with us if you want to try the class when your child is slightly younger.
I also have a baby to look after, can I bring them to the class as well?
Occasionally a family has a baby sibling who needs to come along with them and we do our best to accommodate this, when possible. It’s important that you’re still able to join in the session with your older child. Babies up to 1 year 5 months are free, but from 1 year 6 months, you will need to pay for them at the concessionary rate.
